Show a Friend. Tell a Dealer. Let the Notes Come to You.

Your collection and your wish list as a link — no photos to email, no list to retype at the table.

There are two conversations every collector has, over and over. The first is with a friend: “What have you got?” — and out comes the phone, and the scrolling through photos of notes mixed in with photos of the grandchildren. The second is with a dealer: “What are you looking for?” — and out comes the index card, or the memory, and the dealer writes it on the back of a business card that goes in a drawer.

Both conversations just got shorter. In NUMA, your collection and your want list can each be shared as a link. Tap Share, choose what you're sharing, and send the link however you already send things: a text, an email, a message on the forum. Whoever opens it sees a clean, read-only page — the notes, the attributions, your photos if it's your collection — and nothing else. No account needed on their side. Nothing they can change.

For friends, it's the show-and-tell you'd have anyway, done properly. Send the link to the fellow you trade with and he can look through your notes at his own pace, by series and by denomination, instead of squinting at a phone across a diner table. You choose what goes in it; a link to the “Large Size” part of your collection needn't include the rest.

For dealers, it's better than the business card. Send your want list to the two or three dealers you buy from most, and they have it on their own screens — Fr. 1608, Fr. 1619, Fr. 1621 with a star, the grade you'll accept — the next time they're at an auction or buying a collection. When they find one, they know who wants it. That's how the good notes have always moved: from someone who knows to someone who's asked. The link just means you've asked clearly, once, and it stays asked. (Dealers: if a customer sends you one, keep it. It's the most accurate want list you'll receive all year.)

A word on privacy, because we know it's the first question. Nothing is shared unless you share it. A link shows only the collection or want list you chose. You can stop sharing whenever you like, and the page goes dark. Your records stay yours.

Sharing is part of the NUMA app, on your phone and at ngtnuma.com. Show a friend what you've built. Tell a dealer what you're after. Then let the notes find you. Send your wish list to one dealer this week. Open NUMA, tap Share on your wish list, and send the link. Available on iPhone and Android.
